What Jane's clients have to say:
"After returning to riding
from a long absense, I'm actually contemplating competing, which I have never
done before. Jane has turned my riding into a technique, and I feel as if I am
riding with a horse instead of just upon one. I am thankful for her humor and
constant encouragement during my training process. I don't want to rush a single
methodical step."

"During the summer I would
come up to watch my sister ride with Jane, and I couldn't wait till I got to
start. Even while watching Jane teach I could learn, and I have learned so much!
Jane really makes you think about your riding and what you can do with it. She
is fun to learn with and is a great teacher whether I'm on or off the horse.
Many thanks to Jane!"
Amanda S.
"Jane is a professional in
every way. She has a way to empower her riders with positive reinforcement, that
enables them to succeed in learning and also have a lot of fun! I cannot imagine
riding with anyone else."

"Everytime
I lesson with Jane, I appreciate all over how fortunate I am to have an
instructor that understands horse and rider biomechanics as well as she does.
Finding someone who understands how you get correct work and what correct work
looks like is no easy feat. She's patient and great at painting verbal pictures
to help you improve your position. Lessons are hard work and lots of
fun! "

"Thanks to Jane’s professional
knowledge and expertise, her encouragement and positive reinforcement, her
flexibility and willingness to try new things, Cato and I have made progress I
honestly did not think was possible. Jane doesn’t foster dependency on her. She
gives you the tools and techniques to be more self-reliant and confident with
your horse.
I am a better rider, for sure. Cato is more
confident and calm. Mostly though, I am deeply grateful to Jane
for helping Cato and I find our way through to a new understanding of each
other. We still have a long way to go, but our future together is full of
possibility. It has been an illuminating, transformational, and at times
astonishing journey.We’ve had two relaxed
and non-eventful trail rides – no black eyes or concussions! Thank you, Jane!"

I have been riding with Jane
for about five years through a wide variety of mounts and challenges, and I
have loved every minute of it. She is
easy and fun to work with, and lessons are always valuable, interesting learning
experiences. Her teaching style
emphasizes giving the horse and rider clear tools to allow them to build on
progress made in lessons when there's no trainer around to help. She has taught me to be more self-aware,
more experimental, and less serious (I'm one of those serious riders you see
going around with a stone-cold stare).
She has taken me from addressing basic position and training flaws,
coming from a hunter background on my thoroughbred mare, through teaching an insecure
horse how to behave at schooling shows, to helping me through the process of
basic training with my latest project, Topaz, a mustang gelding. Jane has given me valuable tools that I can
apply and adapt to any horse I'll ever sit on.
Thinking about my future in and beyond riding, I hate to think that I
may one day live somewhere where I can't take lessons from Jane!"

I
have worked with Jane for the last 4 years. Her enthusiasm for every aspect of
horse life is boundless. She is a most
patient teacher, always happy to answer my endless questions. When learning new things, she lets my horse
explore and figure out what she wants, in a safe and encouraging environment. He
has gone from being a silent worrier, to a much more relaxed and happy guy. Jane
cares for my horse on all levels. I don't know what I would do without her!!!

I began riding with Jane Judson
in 2003. One of the areas most important to me as an equestrian is
rider biomechanics. Jane has an excellent grasp of both rider and horse
biomechanics, is able to offer critical insight in the
moment and clearly explains the mechanics of movement so the rider
understands what his or her goal is in influencing the horse. Jane provides
challenging yet fun lessons and I always come away from a lesson with new
exercises or skills to work on between lessons. Jane is also a very positive
person and her instruction style reflects that attitude and subsequently
encourages the rider to challenge themself and their horse. Also important,
Jane is very reliable and consistently provides a high standard of services.
She's continuously advancing her own knowledge, as when she went
through the judge's program, and passing appropriate knowledge on to her
students. Intercollegiate riding and a few other situations have given me
samples of other instruction styles and I say with complete confidence that
Jane is the best trainer/instructor that I have worked with and I recommend her
to any rider looking to further their or their horse's training with a
solid foundation in dressage and biomechanics.
